Cyclist Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident in San Diego

San Diego, California – A shocking incident rocked the northern part of San Diego County, leaving a cyclist in critical condition after being brutally struck by a driver who fled the accident scene.

According to police sources, the unfortunate incident occurred around 11:35 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of State Route 76 and Singh Way in the town of Oceanside.

Sergeant Clint Bussey of the Oceanside Police Department reported that upon receiving the alert, the victim was found lying on the pavement with serious injuries, discovered by motorists passing through the area. Subsequently, the injured individual was airlifted to a trauma center, where they remain in critical condition.

At the scene of the accident, a bicycle with significant damage was found, located approximately 2 miles away, near the intersection of State Route 76 and College Boulevard. Authorities presume these findings are linked, suggesting that the injured person was riding the 

bicycle at the time of the vehicle impact.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended by authorities. However, pieces of a silver Kia were recovered at the scene, which constitute a crucial lead for the ongoing investigation.

This tragic hit-and-run accident in San Diego underscores the importance of road safety and the responsibility of drivers behind the wheel.
