Hit-and-Run Claims Life of San Jose Cyclist

A hit-and-run driver struck a woman riding her bicycle in San Jose, leading to her death, as confirmed by the San Jose Police Department. The collision occurred just before midnight on June 3 at Monterey Road and Curtner Avenue, prompting a major injury investigation.

According to authorities, the woman was traveling eastbound on her bike across Monterey Road, outside a crosswalk. A northbound vehicle on Monterey Road collided with her and callously fled the scene. 

The driver’s identity and car information remain unknown. The victim was initially hospitalized, stabilized, and transferred to a care facility. Regrettably, on July 8, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Police will disclose her identity once her next of kin has been notified.
