POMONA, CA — A tragic accident on the 60 Freeway claimed the life of a 57-year-old woman from Moreno Valley after a tire that came off a truck struck the windshield of her Lexus ES 350 sedan.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the Gary Avenue exit. The tire, from a GMC Sierra driven by a man from Rosemead, detached, crossed the center divider, and struck the victim’s vehicle head-on, causing her to lose control and crash into the metal guardrail.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has been withheld pending notification of her family.
