Accident on Highway 84/285: Two Fatalities

Santa Fe, California – Tranquility on Highway 84/285 was shattered by a tragic incident around 10:56 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, when alarming reports of a wrong-way driver were received.

Officers were dispatched immediately. However, fate cruelly took another tragic turn when a head-on collision was reported near the North Tesuque Interchange.

Tragically, the crash claimed the lives of two individuals. Jordan Dwyer, the driver of the Ram, and his passenger, Landon Crossley, lost their lives in the impact. Meanwhile, two more occupants of the Ram were urgently transported to the hospital due to the injuries sustained.

According to authorities, the accident on Highway 84/285 occurred when a Jeep traveling south invaded the northbound lane, colliding head-on with the Dodge Ram heading north. Investigations suggest that the Jeep driver, 51-year-old Scott Sullivan, a resident of California, may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Scott Sullivan now faces serious legal consequences. Charges against him include two counts of vehicular manslaughter, as well as two counts of causing serious bodily injury by vehicle. 

Additionally, he faces charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving. Despite the injuries sustained in the accident, Sullivan remains hospitalized, awaiting to face his legal fate.

This tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers that can arise on our roads, especially when alcohol is involved. While the community mourns the loss of lives, justice is also expected to be served on behalf of the victims and their families.
