Accidents on Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway: Five People Injured [Malibu, CA]

Malibu, California – The Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu was the scene of two separate accidents that left five people injured, one of them in critical condition, on Friday morning, as reported by authorities.

The first incident occurred just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of PCH and Tonga Street. According to the Ventura County Fire Department, a vehicle collided with a dump truck. Four people were taken to the hospital as a result of this collision: one in critical condition, two in moderate condition, and another with minor injuries.

At 7:30 a.m., a second accident was reported near the site of the first crash. According to ABC7 investigators, a California Highway Patrol vehicle was rear-ended, causing a chain of collisions with another vehicle involved.

One person was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition related to the first crash.

After the first accident, three patients declined medical attention, while one was taken to the hospital in connection with the second crash. It was not immediately confirmed if any of the injured were pedestrians.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact causes of both accidents. The closure of the northbound lanes of PCH was necessary to allow emergency teams to work at the scene. At the time of this report, an accurate estimate of when the lanes would reopen was not provided.

It is worth noting that this stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway has witnessed previous incidents.

On October 17, a 22-year-old driver caused the death of four Pepperdine University students on the road. The driver, Fraser Michael Bohm, pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against him.

These accidents on Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway highlight the road safety hazards in this area, and residents and visitors should take additional precautions when traveling through this area.
