Fresno, California – A suspect has been hospitalized following an accident during a pursuit conducted by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 2:30 am on Monday at the intersection of Clovis and Jefferson avenues, located approximately a block away from the intersection of Clovis and Barstow.
According to deputies from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, it all began when they attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of Clinton and Cedar.
Upon the attempted stop, the driver fled, triggering a pursuit by authorities.
Moments later, the fleeing driver collided with the curb near Jefferson on Clovis, ultimately crashing into a pole.
The driver was transported to Community Regional Medical Center with injuries and will be placed under police custody.
The investigation into this incident is being conducted by the Clovis Police Department.
As a result of the collision during the pursuit in Fresno, Clovis Avenue has been closed in both directions between 9th and Jefferson streets. Additionally, northbound lanes are affected by the accident.
