Bakersfield, California – On Friday night, April 26th, 2024, a cyclist lost his life after a collision with a cargo truck in Bakersfield, at the intersection of Wible and Planz streets, according to official police reports.
The incident occurred around 5:58 p.m., at which time the intersection was closed to allow for police investigation.
According to a preliminary investigation, the cargo truck was traveling north on Wible Street, while the cyclist was heading west on Planz Street at the time of the impact.
The driver of the involved truck returned to the scene of the accident after a brief period, as confirmed by law enforcement authorities.
