Cyclist Fatally Struck by Jeep in Yolo County

Yolo County, California – On the morning of Monday, August 12, a tragic incident shook Yolo County as a cyclist lost his life after being struck by a Jeep.

This unfortunate event occurred on Highway 113, according to information provided by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), which is currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.

The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on an eastbound stretch of Highway 113, specifically west of County Road 102. According to preliminary reports from authorities, the cyclist was riding on the right shoulder, staying out of the main flow of traffic.

However, for reasons that have yet to be determined, the cyclist veered off the shoulder and into the traffic lane. At that moment, the Jeep, traveling on the same highway, fatally struck the cyclist.

The causes that led the cyclist to move into the traffic lane are still under investigation by the CHP. Authorities are working to determine whether any external factors or distractions may have contributed to this tragic outcome.

Following the accident, the cyclist was immediately transported to the hospital, where they received urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, they succumbed to the severe injuries sustained in the collision.
