Driver Arrested for Hit-and-Run in San Francisco

San Francisco, California – A chaotic morning on the streets of downtown San Francisco culminated in the arrest of a driver accused of a hit-and-run.

Two pedestrians were struck at two different locations with an hour’s difference. One of the victims is a 14-year-old girl who was on her way to Francisco High School.

Officials have confirmed that the victims will survive. However, the 14-year-old girl suffered a fractured shoulder and cuts to the head.

It all began around 8 a.m. in the Tenderloin. An individual driving a car struck and injured an Urban Alchemy employee at Market and Jones.

Officers spotted the vehicle an hour later, driving recklessly and running red lights. They initiated a police chase heading towards North Beach.

During the pursuit, the driver struck a student crossing the street. The young person sustained injuries and was hospitalized, but a full recovery is expected.

The car involved in the incidents was described as white with blue stripes.

The chase ended at the Embarcadero near Green Street, where the driver was finally arrested.
Deputy Chief David Lazar of the San Francisco Police Department praised the officers’ work in apprehending the suspect. Authorities have expressed relief that the driver has been apprehended and that no further individuals were injured in this hit-and-run in San Francisco.
