Elderly Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Fresno Pedestrian Accident Involving Teen Driver

A distressing incident unfolded in northeast Fresno as a teenage driver struck and seriously injured an elderly pedestrian at a bustling intersection on Saturday evening. The collision occurred at around 5:30 p.m. at the junction of East Bullard Avenue and North First Street. Fresno Police swiftly responded to the scene, where they discovered a man in his 70s lying on the ground.

According to Lt. Zeb Price, the teenage driver was negotiating a turn from the westbound lane of Bullard Avenue onto northbound First Street. However, amidst the traffic-heavy intersection, the driver’s vehicle collided with the elderly man.

The injured pedestrian was promptly transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. The authorities are diligently working to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the collision.

While it’s confirmed that the man was within the crosswalk at the time of the accident, the extent of his position within the lane remains unclear. The collision reconstruction unit of the police department is spearheading the investigation to shed light on the Fresno pedestrian accident

Notably, the teenage driver is reportedly cooperating with the authorities, and there are no indications of alcohol or drug involvement.
