Just after 5:50 p.m., the Fresno Communication Center received a 911 call alerting them to a shocking head-on collision on Highway 92 north of Avenue 260. In response, CHP officers in the Visalia area headed to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation.
It was revealed that a 43-year-old man was driving his Chevrolet Colorado in the northbound lane of Highway 92, north of Avenue 260. His trajectory was disrupted as he approached a curve in the road. Simultaneously, Montgomery was driving her Kia Optima south on Highway 92, approaching the Chevrolet.

For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet driver failed to negotiate the curve, causing his vehicle to veer left, directly into the path of the Kia. This action triggered the fateful encounter between the two vehicles, leaving a tragic aftermath.
Following the violent collision, the Chevrolet driver was urgently transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center, where he unfortunately succumbed to the injuries sustained in this impact. On the other hand, Montgomery suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center for medical attention.
