In the early hours of Tuesday, a tragic collision occurred on Turlock’s Highway 99, resulting in the loss of one life and leaving two individuals injured, including a child.
The incident took place around 3:17 a.m., just north of Lander Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a man driving a white sedan was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, putting those sharing the road in grave danger. In a fateful moment, the sedan collided head-on with a Tesla traveling north at an estimated speed of 70 mph.
The impact was devastating. The white sedan overturned and quickly caught fire, turning the scene into an infernal spectacle. Additionally, his 6-year-old son, who was accompanying him in the vehicle, was also injured in the incident and was airlifted to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, where he is receiving specialized care.
According to preliminary reports, it is suspected that the driver of the sedan was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. However, as of now, their identity has not been revealed, leading to speculation and growing anxiety within the community.
