Hit-and-Run Claims Life of San Jose Cyclist

A hit-and-run driver struck a woman riding her bicycle in San Jose, leading to her death, as confirmed by the San Jose Police Department. The collision occurred just before midnight on June 3 at Monterey Road and Curtner Avenue, prompting a major injury investigation.

According to authorities, the woman was traveling eastbound on her bike across Monterey Road, outside a crosswalk. A northbound vehicle on Monterey Road collided with her and callously fled the scene.

The driver’s identity and car information remain unknown. The victim was initially hospitalized, stabilized, and transferred to a care facility. Regrettably, on July 8, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Police will disclose her identity once her next of kin has been notified.

As an active investigation continues, witnesses of this tragic San Jose hit and run are urged to come forward. If you have any information, please contact Det. Dellicarpini at 4103@sanjoseca.gov or (408) 277-4654.
