In a dramatic turn of events, multiple vehicles were involved in a collision following an intense pursuit conducted by Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday night.

Witnesses at the scene described that the front ends of both vehicles suffered considerable damage. One individual told a photojournalist that the suspect being pursued northbound on Fairfax Road crashed head-on into another car while making a turn eastbound on Niles Street. As a result of the impact, the suspect’s vehicle caught fire, adding further intensity to the incident.
