Otay Mesa, California – A tragic single-vehicle accident on State Route 905 in Otay Mesa resulted in the death of one person in the early hours of Monday, June 24.
California Highway Patrol officers received a call shortly after midnight reporting a car that had veered off the highway and overturned in the brush near Heritage Road. Two individuals were trapped inside the vehicle, prompting a swift response from officers and firefighters.
Firefighters at the scene had to extricate the two trapped individuals from the wreckage. Unfortunately, one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Authorities are gathering information and evidence to determine what caused the car to leave the roadway and overturn.
