Kern County, California – A tragic incident shook the community of Arvin last Friday when a devastating collision at the intersection of Edison Road resulted in the loss of three lives. The California Highway Patrol announced the arrest of Jose Dejesus V. Gomez, whose alleged failure to stop at a stop sign led to the fatal accident.
According to official reports, Jose Dejesus V. Gomez, driving a red 1998 Jeep, failed to slow down or stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Edison and Di Giorgio Road. At the moment of impact, his vehicle collided with a white 2018 Volkswagen, which had halted at the intersection, obeying the four-way stop sign.
The collision impacted the right side of the VW, causing the car to lose control and crash into a nearby railroad crossing arm. Unfortunately, the accident resulted in the tragic deaths of three women who were traveling in the white 2018 Volkswagen. As of now, the identities of the victims have not been disclosed.
