Bakersfield, California – Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic road incident on Highway 99 when the Ford truck they were traveling in veered off the road, violently colliding with a pillar.
The two occupants of the truck, whose identities have not been disclosed, were heading south on Highway 99 in a Ford vehicle. Under circumstances still unknown, the Ford abruptly swerved off the road, colliding with a metal guardrail.
This impact caused the vehicle to continue southward, culminating in a devastating crash against a concrete pillar belonging to the Wible Road overpass, according to reports provided by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Both occupants of the vehicle, the driver and the passenger, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the accident scene. The family of one of the victims has identified 18-year-old Rodolfo Pulgarin Monarrez as one of the deceased.
According to the family, Monarrez and the other occupant, also deceased, were welders heading to pick up equipment from the office before proceeding to Coalinga for their work duties.
In a show of solidarity, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to assist the family in covering funeral costs.
