Garden Grove, California – A driver suspected of a hit-and-run in Garden Grove was arrested with the help of a witness who followed him after he struck five members of a family, including three children.
The incident occurred shortly before 8:45 p.m., near the intersection of Twintree Lane and Haster Street. According to the Garden Grove Police Department, two adults and three children riding bicycles were hit by a driver who fled the scene without offering assistance to the victims.
The hit-and-run left two children and one adult critically injured, while another child and another adult are in stable condition.
In an act of bravery and civic responsibility, a witness who saw the incident decided to follow the driver and alert authorities by calling 911. Thanks to this quick action, law enforcement was able to apprehend the suspect on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
Authorities have not released the names of the victims or the suspected driver.
