Bakersfield Car Accident: CHP Probes Fatal Crash on Highway 99 Near 166

[Bakersfield, CA] – On Monday morning, a tragic accident took place on Highway 99 near the 166 and is currently being investigated by California Highway Patrol.

The California Highway Patrol in Bakersfield reported that a woman driving a 2003 Nissan Sentra was allegedly speeding on the northbound lane of Highway 99. The driver recklessly changed lanes, resulting in her vehicle flipping over and coming to rest upside down on the right side of the road.

Unfortunately, the driver passed away at the scene. The passenger, Terrell Williams, was fortunate enough to make it out with minor injuries due to wearing a seatbelt; he was then taken over to Kern Medical for treatment.

Investigations on the Bakersfield car accident are ongoing to determine if any alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, and authorities have yet to release the driver’s identity.
