Motorcyclist Dies in Car Accident in Weldon

(Bakersfield, CA) A 37-year-old man died after a car accident on westbound State Route 178 near Powers Lane in Weldon, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

CHP reported that the accident involved a driver of a Dodge traveling west on SR-178 from Powers Lane, slowing down to make a left turn into an entrance, and a motorcyclist on a 2001 Yamaha in the same direction.

The accident occurred when the motorcyclist attempted to pass the Dodge and two vehicles ahead. He managed to overtake the two vehicles at a high speed but ended up colliding with the left front of the Dodge.

The motorcyclist was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene due to the strong impact.

The investigation into the car accident in Weldon is still ongoing, and authorities urge any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to come forward immediately.
