5 Injured in Car Crash at Manteca Pizzeria

Manteca, California – In an unexpected turn of events, five people were injured when a car crashed into the popular Jack’s Pizza on West Yosemite Avenue in Manteca. This incident, which took place on Sunday, has left the community bewildered.

Police Chief Stephen Schluer reported that three individuals were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries, while a fourth person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is in stable condition. Additionally, an employee of the establishment was injured but chose to decline treatment. It’s important to note that the other four injured individuals were customers who were in the establishment at the time of the impact.

Schluer stated that the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering minors. It was confirmed that two young children were present in the vehicle, fortunately without sustaining injuries. The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Oakland, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

According to eyewitness accounts, the car was traveling at a staggering speed, estimated between 80 and 100 miles per hour. It ran a red light, soared into the air dramatically, landed, and seemingly lost control before colliding with the building housing the pizzeria.

This shocking car crash at Manteca Pizzeria underscores the importance of road safety and the devastating consequences of driving under the influence. The Manteca community comes together in solidarity with those affected, wishing a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
