Fresno County, California – A tragic boat accident in San Joaquin has resulted in two fatalities. Amidst the tragedy, a minor was rescued and is now safe.
According to statements from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, a report of an accident in the waters just north of Tower Park Marina was received shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
In a swift and risky rescue operation, three people were pulled from the water by emergency teams. Of the three rescued individuals, sadly, only one survived.
A minor was found alive, but another adult individual, critically injured, did not survive and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Subsequently, another individual was pulled from the water, but unfortunately, was declared deceased.
Authorities identified the two deceased individuals as Quang Lu, 41, a resident of Elk Grove, and Navin Lu, 21, originally from Oakland. The tragedy has left an irreparable void in both communities and has caused shock among family and friends.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the tragic accident remain unknown. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to clarify what happened and determine the possible causes that led to this unfortunate tragedy.
