Baby Dies in Truck Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield

(Bakersfield, CA) On the evening of May 10th, a three-year-old child was struck by a truck near the unincorporated community of Meridian in Bakersfield.

According to early reports from the California Highway Patrol, paramedics were called to the area following a report of a truck accident, indicating that the vehicle had struck a three-year-old child around 6:52 pm.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the child was struck by a 2020 GMC truck while in the driveway of a nearby home on Adobe Road. The child suffered severe injuries, and her family attempted to transport her to the intersection of Adobe Road and Bear Mountain Boulevard where authorities were able to locate them and take them to the hospital.

Sadly, the child was pronounced dead shortly afterward. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of this young victim.
