A tragedy occurred Monday morning in southwest Bakersfield when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle. At 6:16 am, the victim was crossing the street at the intersection of Harris and Wible roads when they were hit by an eastbound motorist. The driver reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, who have since stated that there was no evidence of any drugs, alcohol, or excessive speed involved in the accident.
