Bakersfield Police Asks Witnesses to Come Forward After Pedestrian’s Death

A tragedy occurred Monday morning in southwest Bakersfield when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle. At 6:16 am, the victim was crossing the street at the intersection of Harris and Wible roads when they were hit by an eastbound motorist. The driver reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, who have since stated that there was no evidence of any drugs, alcohol, or excessive speed involved in the accident.

The Police Department is still investigating the Bakersfield accident and is asking anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with more details can contact 661-327-7111.

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victim. Please stay safe while walking near roads and intersections.

Please be aware that even if no drugs, alcohol, or excessive speed were involved, a pedestrian can still be injured or killed by a vehicle traveling at normal speeds. This is why it’s crucial to remain vigilant when crossing the street and pay attention to your surroundings at all times. Let’s all work together to keep our roads safe for everyone.

Thank you to the Bakersfield Police for their tireless work in investigating this tragedy and bringing justice to the victim’s family. We extend our condolences to everyone affected and urge anyone with more information on the accident to come forward.
