Bakersfield, California – Dylan Matthew Franco, a 22-year-old Dollar Tree employee, is facing murder charges following a fatal incident last month that claimed the life of 36-year-old Aaron Delgado.
The fateful event occurred on the night of February 21, 2024, when authorities received an emergency call about an individual down in the parking lot near the Dollar Tree store on Haley Street, near Columbus St. Upon arrival at the scene, Delgado was found gravely injured, and unfortunately, his wounds proved fatal.
Police reports indicate that Delgado had a stab wound on the left side of his body, along with a cut on his hand. Next to him, unopened food items stained with blood were found, as well as a trail of blood drops leading to his body.
Investigations were aided by security footage obtained from Dollar Tree and nearby establishments. The footage revealed the events leading up to the tragic incident.
According to the recordings, Delgado was seen taking items from the store before fleeing through the back door. Moments later, Franco, a store employee, hurriedly exited through the front door following the activation of a security alarm.
A nearby camera captured the moment Franco and Delgado encountered each other near the establishment. The footage shows a confrontation between the two individuals, which quickly escalated into a fight.
After the altercation, Franco fled the scene, briefly pursued by Delgado, who then collapsed in the parking lot. This incident has left a deep impression on the victim’s family and loved ones.
Our condolences and thoughts are with the family and friends of the Bakersfield murder victim.
