Camp Pendleton, California โ A tragic accident near the military base of Camp Pendleton has prompted authorities to shut down a section of the southbound Interstate 5.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. this Thursday, June 27, near the Las Pulgas exit. According to information provided by the CHP, the incident began when the driver of a Jeep lost control, veered off the road, and upon attempting to re-enter, became stalled on the highway.
Described as a “chain reaction” accident, the incident involved another vehicle and four motorcycles with tandem passengers, which collided with the Jeep.
