San Diego County, California – According to a report from authorities in Encinitas, a minivan violently crashed into a retaining wall on the night of Tuesday, December 19, 2023, resulting in the unfortunate loss of the driver.
The fateful incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Via Cantebria. According to authorities, the minivan was traveling north on Via Cantebria when, for reasons still unknown, it veered off the road, collided with a post or streetlight, and ultimately crashed into a formidable wall.
Sadly, the sole occupant of the minivan, the unidentified driver, lost her life at the scene of the accident. The circumstances surrounding this tragic event have left the community shocked and in search of answers.
Sheriff officials have stated that, at this time, they are unaware of whether a medical emergency, substance consumption, or alcohol played a role in the accident. A thorough investigation is underway to clarify the facts and provide the necessary information to those affected.
As a precautionary measure and due to the magnitude of the emergency response, the street was closed in both directions. Additionally, an Emergency Alert was issued for the area, urging residents and passersby to take precautions and follow the instructions of authorities.
