(Bakersfield, CA) A press release from the Bakersfield Police Department reported a traffic collision with injuries on the 10700 block of Campus Park Drive around 5:44 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities identified an adult female driver suffering from severe injuries.
The Fire Department and ambulance personnel attempted to save the woman, but it was too late. SheThe driver was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Bakersfield Police Department report, the male driver and a passenger in the other vehicle sustained moderate injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The accident occurred when the male driver was traveling east on Campus Park Drive when, for an unknown reason, he crossed the center line and struck the westbound driver’s car. Police suggest that high speed may have been a significant factor in the accident.
