A head-on crash in Moorpark left two women dead and three others injured Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. on State Route 23, near Los Angeles Avenue.
What Happened?
According to CHP:
- The driver of a Chevrolet was allegedly speeding alongside the center divider.
- The driver lost control of the vehicle.
- The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane.
- It collided head-on with a Lexus sedan.
A passenger in the Chevrolet was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The driver of the Lexus was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other individuals were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, while the Chevrolet driver sustained moderate injuries.
No arrests have been announced at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
