Malibu, California – A shocking collision between two vehicles in Malibu left both cars wrecked and prompted the closure of a section of the Pacific Coast Highway.
All lanes at block 34300 of the highway were shut down around 1:20 p.m. as SKYCal hovered over the scene, revealing a charred white Range Rover and another severely damaged vehicle. The latter had its hood flung open, engine ablaze, with car parts scattered across the roadway.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported that upon arrival at approximately 12:10 p.m., at least one of the vehicles was engulfed in flames. One person, whose condition remains undisclosed, was airlifted to the hospital.
Following a string of violent vehicular accidents along the PCH in Malibu, a task force was established in January to patrol this hazardous stretch of road. This came in response to ongoing public pressure calling for additional safety measures.
This accident underscores the importance of road safety and the need for effective measures to prevent accidents in high-risk areas such as the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
