Bakersfield, California – A devastating head-on collision in northern California has taken the lives of a young mother and her one-year-old baby girl.
On Friday, June 9, the fatal crash occurred on Highway 99 in Live Oak. The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims as 21-year-old Allyson Nohelia Navarro-Salazar of Gridley and her 1-year-old daughter, Laylani.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) revealed that the driver responsible for the collision had previously been involved in a separate incident in Live Oak. Fleeing the scene before law enforcement’s arrival, the driver proceeded to travel southbound on Highway 99, crossing the double yellow lines and colliding with a northbound vehicle. This reckless maneuver caused the driver to lose control, resulting in a devastating head-on collision with Navarro-Salazar’s car.
Angel Navarro, the uncle of Navarro-Salazar, expressed the family’s anguish and frustration, they have been informed that the person responsible for the accident was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. However, the family is still awaiting further details and clarification regarding the tragic events that claimed the lives of their beloved Allyson and Laylani.
