(Bakersfield, CA) A woman from Pasadena was arrested on Sunday after being involved in a minor pursuit that resulted in an accident in Tulare County.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, officers attempted to stop the woman around 5:30 p.m. on suspicion of possible driving under the influence after noticing the woman swerving in traffic.
The woman ignored the officers’ signals, and a brief pursuit ensued through several intersections until she collided with a westbound Toyota Rav 4 on SR-46.
The Toyota had the right of way with no stop sign but was pushed off the road and went off a cliff. CHP officers responded to the scene and assisted with the accident.
Crystal Olvera, 23, was arrested with minor injuries, and the four occupants in the Toyota were transported to the Kern County Hospital.
Alcohol was a significant factor in the accident, and Olvera was booked in Tulare County on a felony charge. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
