Los Angeles, California – Alan Ruck is now entangled in legal troubles as motorist Horacio Vela files a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging negligence on the part of the actor in a multi-vehicle accident near a Los Angeles pizzeria.
Vela is seeking unspecified monetary damages, arguing that the incident resulted in severe physical and financial consequences. He claims to have been stopped at a red light when Ruck, behind the wheel of his Rivian R1T truck, accelerated and collided with the rear of his Hyundai Elantra. This initial collision propelled him forward to the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard, where his car collided with another vehicle making a left turn.
The lawsuit against Alan Ruck alleges that, following the initial collision, Ruck continued driving at a high speed. He struck another vehicle before finally crashing into the outer wall of Raffalo’s Pizza, located in a shopping center at the intersection.
Post-accident, Vela was transported by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with described “serious injuries.” His car, as per the lawsuit, was deemed a “total loss.” Vela’s lawyers reported that he lost consciousness during the accident and was subsequently diagnosed with a subdural hematoma. Now, Vela is showing signs of brain injury, including memory issues and dizziness.
The lawsuit also highlights that Ruck’s insurance has refused to accept responsibility for the accident and has avoided responding to requests for an amicable settlement. According to Vela’s attorney, these actions raise further questions about liability in this case.
As of now, Alan Ruck has not responded to requests for comments on the matter. The lack of clarity on the sequence of events, coupled with contradictory statements from the involved parties, adds an element of uncertainty to this ongoing legal case. With several people injured and a business damaged, the lawsuit aims to establish Ruck’s responsibility, presenting evidence and witnesses to support the case.
