Head-On Crashes With Fire: One of the Deadliest Scenarios
Head-on collisions are already among the most fatal types of crashes.
When combined with fire and rollover, the risk increases dramatically.
Common factors in these tragedies include:
- Crossing into oncoming traffic
- High speeds
- Limited reaction time
- Severe structural damage upon impact
⚖️ Legal Perspective: Liability in Head-On Crashes
In these types of collisions, investigations typically focus on:
Key Violations
- Improper lane crossing (double yellow line)
- Unsafe speed (CVC § 22350)
- Reckless driving (CVC § 23103)
If a driver is found to have entered oncoming traffic, it is often considered a primary factor in determining liability.
Rights of Victims’ Families
In crashes involving multiple fatalities, families may have the right to file a wrongful death claim under Code of Civil Procedure § 377.60 – 377.61.
This may include compensation for:
✔️ Funeral expenses
✔️ Loss of financial support
✔️ Loss of companionship and family support
When multiple victims are involved, claims may also involve shared insurance policies, making the legal process more complex.
